Jesus Loves Me

Written by Chris Tomlin
© 2014 Love Ran Red Album

This anointed song is really simple. It's just C-Am-F-G throughout except for the bridge.

Verse 1
C               Am
I was lost, I was in chains
F                         G
The world had a hold of me
C                                  Am
My heart was a stone, I was covered in shame
F                        G
When He came for me

Pre-chorus
C                                  Am
I couldn't run, couldn't run from His presence
F                                   G
I couldn't run, couldn't run from His arms

Chorus
C              Am
Jesus, He loves me
F                    G
He loves me, He is for me
C                Am
Jesus, how can it be
F                    G
He loves me, He is for me

Verse 2
C                   Am
It was a fire, deep in my soul
F             G
I'll never be the same
C                                       Am
I stepped out of the dark, into the light
F              G
When He called my name

Bridge
Am                                     F
He holds the stars, and He holds my heart
C                                     G
With healing hands that bear the scars
Am                                       F
The rugged cross where He died for me
C                            G
My only hope, my everything

Whom Shall I Fear (God Of Angel Armies)

Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)

© 2007 Chris Tomlin
Original hymm written in 1779

Another favourite on the uke with a simple C F Am G chord pattern, C being the base note. Get a sense for which part are higher in pitch and vary by your intuition. It's easy. All the verses can be played with the same notes. Enjoy!

Verse 1

Amazing grace
         F             C
How sweet the sound
        Am                  G
That saved a wretch like me
   C            C7         F          C
I once was lost, but now I'm found
        Am          G       C

Verse 2

How precious did that grace appear
       Am    G        C
The hour I first believed

My chains are gone
                    C
I've been set free
                     F                      C
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
                 F                       Am
And like a flood His mercy reigns
     G                             C
Unending love, amazing grace

Verse 3
The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures

My chains are gone
I've been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy reigns
Unending love, amazing grace

Verse 4
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow
The sun forbear to shine
But God, Who called me here below,
Will be forever mine.
Will be forever mine.

You are forever mine.
